Mobile Money FAQs - SMS

1) How does the SMS transaction works?

In order to use the SMS transactions, the Merchant would have to register their mobile phone with Mobile Money. All SMS transactions using the Mobile Money systems would be initiated by the Merchant using the pre-registered mobile number.

 

2) How do I bill my customer via SMS transaction?

2.1) You can use mobile phone to send the eCash to 66123

Step 1
Compose the sms format:
rd#ecash number(10 digit)#Transaction Amount#Merchant Bill No/Reference Number#Description (optional)

Example:
Rd#1122335124#125.75#932146#Flowers

Step 2
Send to 66123



2.2 ) You can use mobile phone to send the customer's Mobile phone number
to 66123

Step 1
Compose the sms format:
bill#Customer's Mobile Number#Transaction Amount#Merchant Bill No/Reference Number#Description(optional)

Example:
bill#1122335124#125.75#932146#Flowers

Step 2
Send to 66123

 


3) How will I know if my transaction is successful?

Mobile Money will notify you via SMS with Merchant Bill No/Reference number, Amount Paid, Mobile Money payment Reference No. and 3 digit Approval Code (for eCash transaction only).

Note: Please write the 3 digit Approval Code on Merchant and Customer receipt for reference.

 

4) How does Mobile Money notify us if the transaction is a failure?

Mobile Money will notify you via SMS of transaction status 'Transaction Rejected'
Example: Ecash number invalid

 

5) Do I get charged for SMS that I send to your short code (66123)?

You will be charged only RM0.15 per SMS.

 

6) Do I get charged for receiving SMS?

All the SMS that you received from Mobile Money is free of charge.

 

7) What happens if I do not receive any confirmation on my transaction from Mobile Money?

The Mobile Money Merchant will need to resend the payment request to Mobile Money to proceed with the transaction. In case the Merchant still has not receive any confirmation from Mobile Money, please contact their Merchant Care Hotline at 1800-8777-98.

 

8) Can I register 2 mobile numbers for the SMS transaction?

Yes, 2 merchant ID's will be provided.

 

9) Can multiple eCash numbers be sent via 1 sms?

NO. Only one eCash number at one time.

 

10) What if the customer does not confirm the payment in within 30 minutes? What is the message that I would receive?

The transaction would be captured as void. The Merchant would need to re-initiate the request for payment process.

Note: webShaper e-commerce will be able to request for payment again after the 30-minute time limit.
